CiCi Cam can now separate you from your surroundings in real time. You can remove the background, soften it with blur, replace it with one of six built-in scenes, or use your own image. The processed result becomes the CiCi Cam virtual-camera feed, so you configure the background once and reuse it in compatible meeting, streaming, and recording apps.
Four ways to control your background
- Original keeps the camera image unchanged.
- Remove clears the scene behind you and keeps the person visible.
- Blur hides room detail without replacing the setting completely.
- Replace uses a built-in scene or a local image you choose.
The built-in library includes a beige room, modern living room, modern office, creator studio, warm house, and white office. You can also keep up to five local background images in CiCi Cam.
How to change your webcam background
- Open CiCi Cam and select your physical webcam.
- Open Filter, then select the Background tab.
- Choose Remove or Blur, or select a built-in scene.
- To use your own picture, choose Add Image and select a JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, or WebP file.
- Adjust Edge Softness if hair, shoulders, or moving hands look too sharp or too soft.
- Open the destination app and select CiCi Cam as its camera.
Your background choice travels with the virtual-camera output. There is no need to configure the same image separately in every compatible app.
Which option should you use?
| Situation | Recommended mode |
|---|---|
| Quick meeting in a cluttered room | Blur |
| Product demo or recorded tutorial | Modern office or white office |
| Creator stream | Creator studio or a branded custom image |
| Layout that needs a clean subject layer | Remove |
| Casual call with a tidy room | Original or light blur |
Blur is usually the most forgiving choice when you move often. A replacement image creates a more consistent identity across calls and streams. Removal is useful when another production tool will compose the final scene.
Make the edges look more natural
Background separation works best when the person and room do not have the same color. Face a soft light, keep some distance from the wall, and avoid very low light or motion blur. Then tune Edge Softness: increase it slightly for harsh hair edges, or reduce it when shoulders and hands appear too soft.
Use only one background processor at a time. If CiCi Cam is already blurring or replacing the scene, disable the equivalent effect in Zoom, Teams, Meet, OBS, or the receiving app. Stacking two segmentation effects can soften edges and use more processing power.
One background workflow for every camera app
The signal path is simple: physical webcam → CiCi Cam processing → CiCi Cam virtual camera → destination app. This keeps your face, lighting, color, and background adjustments together in one preview.
